We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse operations in Chicago, Illinois. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. This role is essential to maintaining the flow of goods within our logistics facility. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload palletized or bulk materials from trailers and onto racks.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure safety and functionality.
- Safely stack and stage products in designated areas, maintaining proper height and stability.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment as directed.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear aisles and access to safety equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, and company policies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to supervision.
- Support overall warehouse and logistics operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe forklift operation and material handling techniques.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting and physical tasks as required.
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics and safety best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety instructions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
