We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse facilities. Your duties will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, ensuring that inventory is managed accurately and effectively. You will operate various equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, to transport materials throughout the warehouse. This position plays a critical part in maintaining the flow of operations and supporting the broader logistics network. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse processes, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Attention to detail is crucial for accurate inventory tracking and preventing loss or damage. You will be expected to follow all established safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks. Responsibilities include: Receiving incoming shipments and verifying contents against packing slips; Storing materials in designated warehouse locations; Picking and preparing materials for outgoing shipments; Operating pallet jacks and hand trucks to move materials; Maintaining accurate inventory records; Ensuring the warehouse is clean and organized; Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies; Assisting with cycle counts and physical inventories; Supporting the logistics team with various material handling tasks. This role involves considerable physical work, including frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs and prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials.
- Transport materials using pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Verify inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts.
- Prepare materials for shipping and staging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and utilize required PPE.
- Support logistics and operations teams as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a material handler or warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Capability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
