We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our expanding logistics operations in Durham, North Carolina. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our warehouse. This includes loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from storage areas, and supporting both receiving and shipping functions. Operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, will be a key part of your daily tasks. A thorough understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory flow is essential. You must be proficient in handling materials with care to prevent damage and ensure accuracy. Our commitment to safety is unwavering; therefore, strict adherence to all safety regulations and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position requires significant physical exertion, including frequent heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs), bending, and standing for prolonged periods. You will work collaboratively with a team, including receiving associates, inventory specialists, and shipping personnel, to maintain efficient operations. Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing freight.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment proficiently.
- Move, stack, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist in the receiving process by verifying counts and inspecting for damage.
- Stage goods for shipping, ensuring accuracy and proper organization.
- Support inventory control by accurately relocating and identifying stock.
- Conduct routine inspections of all material handling equipment before use.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support warehouse logistics.
