We have an exciting opening for a Forklift Operator at our Richmond, Virginia facility. This position is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse and plays a critical role in our overall logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating industrial trucks to move materials, loads, and products around the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, experienced, and possesses a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. You will ensure that materials are handled safely and efficiently, contributing to the productivity of the entire team. This role requires precision, awareness of your surroundings, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safe lifting practices are mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move products and materials to and from storage areas, production areas, and loading docks.
- Assist with inventory management, including put-away and retrieval of stock.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management immediately.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including the use of PPE.
- Follow safe lifting procedures when handling materials.
- Stack and unstack pallets and materials neatly and securely.
- Contribute to a safe and efficient logistics environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures, including PPE and material handling best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and focus.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
