We are seeking an Entry-Level Data Engineer to be part of our healthcare analytics platform team. In this role, you will contribute to building and supporting scalable data pipelines that influence healthcare decisions for millions. Build and maintain data pipelines using Spark SQL within a modern lakehouse architecture. Support ETL/ELT processes for healthcare claims data (medical, pharmacy, eligibility). Write clear, well-documented code and engage in peer code reviews. Collaborate with senior engineers to learn about data architecture and design patterns. Partner with analysts and stakeholders to translate their data needs into effective technical solutions. Contribute to technical documentation and facilitate team knowledge sharing. Participate in agile practices including sprint planning and retrospectives. Quality Assurance & Reliability
Monitor the performance of data pipelines and assist in troubleshooting data issues. Support production alongside senior team members. Learn and apply quality, risk, and data validation standards. Qualifications
Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role. Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases. Familiarity with Python or similar programming languages. Knowledge of version control tools like Git. Ideal Attributes
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail, especially concerning data accuracy. Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach. Eager to learn, grow, and develop technical expertise. Preferred Qualifications
Some exposure to Apache Spark or Spark SQL. Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Understanding of data warehousing or lakehouse concepts. Familiarity with healthcare data or regulated industries. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or Databricks. Interest in AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices. Languages:
Python, SQL, Spark SQL. Data Domains:
Healthcare claims, risk adjustment, population health. This role offers remote work options within the United States. The expected application deadline is February 28, 2026. Compensation
Salary range for this position is $71,700 - $131,905. In all other locations, the salary is $71,700 - $114,700. For Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia, the salary range is $82,455 - $131,905.
