Location: Penn Hills, PA
Schedule: Saturday 7:00 AM - Sunday 11:00 PM
Employment Type: Part-Time (Weekend Block)
Pay Rate: $17.20/hour + $0.75/hour weekend shift differential

Tutelage Residential Services is a small, mission-driven human services agency based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Position Summary:
This position is unique you will work a block shift EVERY OTHER WEEKEND, 40 hrs. This is shift promotes work-life harmony while delivering essential support services. Work part- time or just supplement your income with consolidated days throughout the month.

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll have the unique opportunity to make a real difference - supporting individuals in a therapeutic home environment while advancing your career.

You'll play a key role in helping individuals build independence, engage in community life, and maintain a safe and respectful home. You will also work closely with our team to ensure documentation, care plans, and behavior support strategies are properly implemented.

What You'll Do:

  • Foster a supportive and engaging environment in alignment with the "Everyday Lives" philosophy
  • Implement behavior and support plans with consistency and compassion
  • Support individuals with daily living tasks, including hygiene, meals, and appointments
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities
  • Accurately document shift activity and communication logs
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and order within the home environment
  • Administer medications as trained and required
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and monthly fire drills
  • Assist with household responsibilities such as grocery shopping, cleaning, yard work etc
  • Support individuals with financial tracking (e.g., petty cash, client funds)

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team spirit
  • Ability to work independently and follow through with responsibilities
  • Comfort using digital tools for documentation and communication

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience in human services preferred
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform household maintenance tasks as needed
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Must pass physical exam, TB test, and required background checks
  • Ability to be certified to administer medications
