Reports To: General Manager

Overview: The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the daily activities of the Swim Associates and adherence to Big Blue Swim School processes and procedures. The Assistant General Manager is an effective communicator, great problem solver, and mentor to staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Readiness

· Communicate with parents/customers on a regular basis to provide appropriate status updates and a high level of customer service

· Conduct daily monitoring and review of student progress, checkbox completion, and move-ups to ensure appropriate progression in lessons

· Train front desk staff on any current promotions and best customer service skills

· Own conversion of trial leads to paid weekly lessons and share best practices with team

People Management

· Manage the team of Swim Associates to company standards

· Coach and instruct Swim Associates in providing safe and effective swim lessons

· Ensure Swim Associates are adhering to Big Blue Swim School principles and curriculum

· Conduct Monthly Swim Associate evaluations & 1:1 meetings with direct reports

· Enforce all safety procedures and required certifications

· Facilitate bi-weekly team trainings as needed

Pool Maintenance

· Ensure efficient building operations including cleanliness, water quality, and pump room operations

· Other duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities

· Enforce all safety procedures and required certifications

· Facilitate weekly 1:1 meetings with General Manager

· Help with inventory and ordering

· Conduct Swim Associate interviews as needed

· Organize and plan monthly staff outings with General Manager

· Live, breathe, and represent the Big Blue Values

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma/GED required

· Lifeguard, CPR, CPO certifications

· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to proactively identify opportunities and recommend solutions

· Must possess the ability to communicate and respond to student and customer interactions

· Ability to work in the pool as needed

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Ability to regularly move throughout the facility to continuously interact with customers and staff

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly working in and around a pool environment including warm temperatures and wet conditions. Working with chemicals is a regular part of this job. The noise level in the work environment may be moderately loud. This job also works in a standard office environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50, $55,000.00 per year
