Purpose
The Program Officer, Haitian Community Programs is responsible for implementation of projects supporting for US-based Haitians, primarily those who are ORR eligible (pending alternative funding). The projects comprise a mental wellbeing project coordinating activities and stakeholders both internal and external to CWS to implement a series of Haitian Kreyol language virtual spaces in coordination with a service provider based in Port-au-Prince. The program officer will provide logistical and coordination support to the project which is led by a steering committee of interdepartmental CWS and partner organization staff. The purpose of the role is to coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including CWS offices, internal CWS HQ staff and external partners such as Haitian community ECBOs and project topical experts to ensure smooth implementation of projects. The position will also manage relevant procurement processes, data tracking and reporting, as well as support referrals management of potential clients needing ongoing services. The position also has responsibilities related to protocol and resource development, research, data analysis and training. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of/experience working with Haitian entrants in the US and must fluently speak Haitian Kreyol to communicate with community members and partners. An important prerequisite for this position is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a collegial manner and to work independently to complete assignments.
This is a grant funded position through Sept. 29, 2026 through the Preferred Communities Supplemental programs. Continuation of the position past September 2026 is contingent upon availability of funding.
