Software Engineering Manager
to support our Flight Simulation | Labs Software team located in
Berkeley, Missouri.
This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic and cohesive management team in a large, cross-functional integrated product team (IPT) developing the modeling and simulation capabilities that enable the cutting-edge capabilities going on today and tomorrow's combat aircraft developed by the Air Dominance Division of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
The ideal candidate will lead the Flight Simulation | Labs (FSL) F/A-18 Shared Tools and Automated Testing software strategy and team of engineers developing frameworks and tools to support the larger FSL F/A-18 team, in an agile, collaborative environment. This team is responsible for creating and supporting the tools used by other FSL F/A-18 teams and F/A-18 Mission Systems teams, as well as the framework that allows automated, tactically representative testing of the F/A-18 mission systems. Additionally, you will serve as a business owner on the Flight Simulation | Labs F/A-18 Agile Release Train (ART).
The successful candidate will need to work as part of a cohesive leadership team. Adaptability, the ability to work closely with others, and an open mind are essential attributes of the management team members. Experience in leading teams is required; agile development experience and modeling and simulation or mission systems experience is preferred and highly beneficial.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage employees and potentially oversees first level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures, and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members Provides guidance, oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes Manages, develops and motivates employees Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
1 or more years of demonstrated aptitude for leadership Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 1+ years' experience working on real time Modeling and Simulation and/or Mission Systems products 1+ years' experience with Earned Value Management Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) Experience leading teams, ideally software teams Drug Free Workplace:

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Manager Level (Level K): $160,650.00 - $217,350.00.

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.
