About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Criminal Data Analyst to join our Criminal and Public Records Product organization. This pivotal role involves owning the criminal data product roadmap and driving data-driven decision making across the team. The Lead Criminal Data Analyst will coordinate initiatives related to building, integrating, and enhancing products within their portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives using Agile methodologies. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Scrum Masters, QA, and Engineering, to develop and implement innovative solutions that improve data quality, security, and insights. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, collaborative professional who can lead projects from inception to completion and mentor junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in data analysis or related roles
- At least 2 years of experience mentoring or coaching team members
- Proven expertise in SQL, with the ability to write complex and optimized queries
- Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting tools for data manipulation
- Experience with Power BI or equivalent data visualization platforms
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data pipeline orchestration, and automation
- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses and data governance standards
- Knowledge of statistical methods and data modeling techniques
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams
Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform business strategies
- Define, develop, and optimize ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration and quality
- Create complex SQL queries for reporting, analytics, and product support
- Design and implement data models and algorithms aligned with business objectives
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to support various initiatives and decision-making processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver insights
- Present findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and impactful manner
- Mentor and guide junior analysts in best practices and technical skills
- Implement data validation checks and error handling to maintain data integrity
- Automate and orchestrate ETL workflows using scripting and automation tools
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve data processes
