Now operating with more than 225 team members nationwide, VBG has helped over 55,000 Veterans through the VA claims process. The company is dedicated to honoring service and supporting the Veteran community through ongoing advocacy, community partnerships, and meaningful opportunities within its workforce.
Summary We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Developer with strong expertise in Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, with additional experience in Experience Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud preferred. This is a hands-on development role where you will design, build, and optimize scalable Salesforce solutions that support mission-critical business operations in the Veteran Benefits space. You will actively contribute code, configure complex integrations, and collaborate with other Salesforce developers and cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, user-centered CRM experiences. In addition to development, you will play a key role in architectural decision-making, mentoring peers, and shaping the overall Salesforce strategy.
This position is open to candidates located in the following states: Arizona (AZ), California (CA), Washington (WA), Nevada (NV), Utah (UT), Illinois (IL), Ohio (OH), New Jersey (NJ), Virginia (VA), North Carolina (NC), and Florida (FL).
Project Description You will be a key contributor in enhancing and extending our Salesforce ecosystem, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across multiple business functions. This role requires close collaboration with other Salesforce developers, Product, and IT stakeholders to deliver robust solutions. Projects will primarily focus on Sales and Service Clouds, with opportunities to extend functionality into Experience Cloud and, where applicable, Marketing Cloud. You will help deliver solutions that improve internal workflows, enhance client engagement, and drive organizational growth.
Requirements: Essential Functions: Salesforce Development & Architecture
* Design, implement, and maintain custom solutions primarily in Sales and Service Clouds. * Build scalable Apex classes, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and Triggers. * Architect and maintain integrations using APIs, Mulesoft, and third-party connectors. * Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Salesforce best practices.
Collaboration & Mentorship
* Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives. * Mentor junior developers and admins, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. * Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Security teams to refine requirements and deliver robust solutions.
Performance, Security & Best Practices
* Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex Salesforce issues. * Implement data governance, security models, and compliance standards (HIPAA preferred). * Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, and solution diagrams.
Continuous Improvement
* Stay current with Salesforce releases and new features, especially in Sales and Service Clouds. * Proactively recommend enhancements and opportunities to leverage Salesforce innovation. * Explore Experience Cloud portals and Marketing Cloud automation as areas for added value.
Qualifications or Competencies:
* 7+ years of Salesforce development experience, with deep expertise in Sales Cloud and Service Cloud. * Proficiency in Apex, LWC, SOQL, and Salesforce APIs. * Hands-on experience with Experience Cloud (preferred). * Exposure to Marketing Cloud (preferred). * Expertise in Salesforce Data Model, Role Hierarchy, and Sharing Rules. * Experience building Integrations via REST APIs. * Experience using ETL tools. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Gearset, Copado, or equivalent). * Familiarity with Mulesoft or other middleware tools. * Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. * Proven ability to lead initiatives and mentor others without direct supervisory responsibility. * Healthcare or HIPAA-compliant environment experience is a plus. * Experience with CRM workflows and client lifecycle management.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred). * Salesforce Developer and/or Architect certifications required (e.g., Platform Developer II, Application Architect). * Additional certifications in Experience Cloud and/or Marketing Cloud are advantageous. * Minimum of 7 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including enterprise-scale systems.
Technical Assessment: Please be prepared for hands-on technical challenges where you will connect into a Salesforce org to troubleshoot, write, and review code and other automations.
Recommended install: VS Code & Salesforce Extension Pack (Expanded), or any preferred code editor capable of deploying to a given org.
