About the Role We are searching for a talented Director of Embedded Software to lead our dynamic team. In this critical position, you will take charge of the design, architecture, and development of embedded software for our groundbreaking high-altitude solar-powered UAVs. Your role will be central to establishing the technical framework that will revolutionize communication systems on a global scale. You will oversee the system architecture and execution, drive the selection and integration of key flight system components, and collaborate closely with our founding engineering team across different disciplines. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded engineer with a track record in embedded software development for complex hardware systems, driven by a passion for early-stage prototyping in a quick-paced environment. As the Director of Embedded Software, you should excel in both system-level architecture and practical implementation, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach. We are seeking someone with a high level of commitment, tenacity, and the ability to thrive within a mission-driven, technically sophisticated team. Familiarity with flying or autonomous vehicles, as well as experience in programming languages such as Julia, Rust, Simulink, or MATLAB, is highly valued.
