About the Role The
AI Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Lead
will spearhead teams focused on the design, operation, and scaling of AI/ML infrastructure and cloud platforms. This role encompasses strategic implementation of cloud-native, Kubernetes-based platforms to develop reliable, secure, and cost-effective AI systems. As a leader in this capacity, you will blend technical expertise with people management and strategic decision-making responsibilities, overseeing distributed compute environments, GPU clusters, CI/CD pipelines, and vector-search infrastructure, all while ensuring compliance with security standards. Key Responsibilities Include: Leading engineering teams in AI/ML infrastructure, cloud operations, and MLOps automation.
Defining strategies for cloud, Kubernetes, and infrastructure to support scalable AI platforms.
Guiding design and operation of distributed compute environments and GPU clusters.
Overseeing CI/CD pipelines that automate model training, testing, and deployment processes.
Managing incident response and reliability engineering for AI platforms.
Leading performance testing and capacity planning efforts.
Ensuring compliance with security protocols and responsible AI frameworks.
Implementing multi-cloud resilience and automated failover for critical workloads.
Driving platform modernization initiatives and evaluating third-party infrastructure tools.
Communicating system status, risks, and progress to senior leadership.
Managing a team of 4-5 direct reports, focusing on coaching and career development.
Overseeing project budgets, timelines, and quality metrics.
Collaborating with sales and stakeholders on project feasibility and strategic opportunities.
Championing continuous improvement efforts to enhance DevOps maturity.
Qualifications 7+ years in DevOps, cloud engineering, or related roles.
2+ years in engineering leadership or senior technical positions.
Proficient with distributed cloud systems, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
Skilled in troubleshooting complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
Proficient in Python, Bash, or equivalent scripting languages.
Strong understanding of observability and reliability engineering principles.
Experience with ML or generative AI workload infrastructure.
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative skills.
Preferred Qualifications BA/BS in computer science, engineering, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Cloud and AI certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP) are highly desirable.
Experience with Kubernetes platforms and cloud ML services.
Expertise in GPU orchestration and multi-tenant environments.
Experience in observability tools and infrastructure governance.
Familiarity with advanced deployment patterns and service mesh architectures.
Experience with generative AI and managing related CI/CD pipelines.
Proven ability to make strategic technical decisions under constraints.
