Band 6, Full Time, Permanent – An exciting opportunity to join the Applications Support Team in Digital Services as a Junior Applications Specialist. You will be responsible for day to day support of a variety of Trust systems, as well as administration, configuration and testing of new work streams and change requests. This is a junior role supporting the B7 Applications Specialist and B7 Testing Manager. Previous IT experience and a good understanding of ITIL Service Management are essential.
Main duties of the job Manage incidents and change requests on the Trust’s incident management system (Freshservice) for all applications we support, using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure tasks are completed within given timescales.
Understand the systems, offer potential solutions to problems, and support a team of skilled application specialists to ensure requests, customer issues and technical problems are managed within agreed SLAs.
Undertake advanced maintenance, administration and configuration of the Trust’s clinical systems and e-RS.
Support the expansion and upgrading of applications and support new systems in both project and BAU stages.
Contribute to Problem and Change Management, advanced system administration, UAT and regression testing.

Person Specification Essential
Education & Qualifications: Degree level in computer science; IT related courses and qualifications
Previous Experience: In-depth knowledge of complex applications (e.g., Patient Administration and Clinical systems); experience in support, maintenance and administration of IT Clinical applications (e.g., Cerner Millennium, Emis Web & e-RS); proven track record of Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change Management); minimum 2 years in IT/Digital Services Support
Skills & Knowledge: Ability to use diagnostic and analytical tools; ability to prioritise workloads; strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences; high standard of documentation; ability to work with 3rd party suppliers; good understanding of IT processes and procedures
Desirable
Previous NHS IT experience
Experience of user training on new systems or new functionality
Oracle Millennium courses/qualifications or equivalents in other EPR system support, development and maintenance
