CNC VTL Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled CNC Vertical Lathe Machinist to produce precision components. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC VTL machines, interpret technical drawings, and ensure parts meet stringent quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient production of high-quality components.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), including Doosan and Toshiba machines, to manufacture precision components.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings to determine specifications, tolerances, and machining sequences.
• Select and set up appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices to ensure stable and accurate machining.
• Monitor machining operations, making necessary adjustments to speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters to optimize performance.
• Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and calipers, to verify parts conform to specified dimensions and tolerances, ensuring high-quality output.
• Load and unload heavy materials using overhead hoists and cranes, adhering to safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement solutions to maintain efficient production flow.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, performing routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a focus on setting up and operating Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
• Strong shop math skills and ability to perform precise measurements.
• Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds and operate overhead cranes and hoists safely.

• Experience with Mastercam programming and editing.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
• Experience working in a job shop environment with low quantities and highly technical pieces.
