About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated AI Engineer/Data Scientist II to join Honeywell's Connected Enterprise team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and deploying advanced AI and machine learning (ML) models that create new business opportunities and deliver significant value. Your responsibilities will include recommending innovative solutions through various data science methodologies, including hypothesis testing and data acquisition strategies. You will play a key role in defining and governing Honeywell's analytics strategy, expanding the AI/ML capabilities within our Forge platform, and promoting best practices in data science across different functions. Reporting directly to the AI/ML Leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, production-ready models and solutions that address complex industrial challenges and enable digital transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, or a related STEM field
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time data science prototyping experience using Python and machine learning techniques in a commercial environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of ML experience applied to processes, systems, and hardware in a commercial setup
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with distributed storage and compute tools such as Spark
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience deploying ML models on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience designing and deploying production pipelines using containerized microservices or orchestrated batch processes

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in a related STEM field, experience with MLOps best practices, familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and natural language processing, and experience working with remote and global teams. Results-driven with a positive, proactive attitude is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, and deploy innovative AI/ML models to support business growth and operational efficiencies
  • Recommend and implement data science solutions utilizing hypothesis testing, data acquisition strategies, and model validation techniques
  • Contribute to defining and governing Honeywell's analytics and AI/ML strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals
  • Enhance the AI/ML capabilities of the Forge platform by integrating new models and tools
  • Promote best practices in data science, model deployment, and MLOps across various teams and functions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and operations to deliver scalable solutions
  • Participate in continuous learning and development to stay updated with emerging AI/ML trends and technologies
  • Support the deployment and monitoring of models in production environments, ensuring robustness and reliability
