Harnham is partnering with a fast-growing, well-capitalized financial services company to hire a
Senior Data Engineer
into a high-impact, business-facing role. This is an opportunity to join a lean, high-performing data team where engineers have real ownership, visibility, and influence over decision-making.
The company operates in the lending and credit space and has continued to perform strongly in uncertain economic conditions. Data plays a critical role in their growth strategy, particularly across credit analytics, acquisition, and operational reporting.
The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining modern data infrastructure while working closely with analytics and business stakeholders. This is not a siloed platform role - you'll be expected to understand business problems, design clean data models, and clearly communicate insights.
You'll work in a fast-paced agile environment with short sprint cycles and a strong emphasis on ownership and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure in a modern cloud environment Develop advanced SQL models and Python workflows to support analytics and reporting use cases Build and maintain data marts and warehouse layers, including cleaning and consolidating legacy data Partner closely with analytics and business teams to translate business questions into reliable data solutions Support new initiatives involving credit-related data and pipeline migrations Ensure data quality and reliability through testing, monitoring, and best practices What We're Looking For
Required:
5+ years of experience in data engineering Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, complex transformations) Strong Python experience Hands-on experience with AWS and Snowflake Strong data modeling experience Excellent communication skills and comfort working with non-technical stakeholders Proven stability and ownership mindset Nice to Have:
Experience with dbt and/or Airflow Background in financial services, fintech, payments, or lending Exposure to credit or transaction-level data Familiarity with monitoring or observability tools Why Apply?
