Job Description

As a Security Officer - Healthcare Patrol Roving in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a welcoming presence for staff, patients, and visitors. Your visible patrols and attentive customer service will contribute to a secure environment, supported by Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and innovation. This post requires driving responsibilities as part of your daily duties.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols inside the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or incidents to Allied Universal management and/or site leadership.
  • Assist staff, patients, and visitors by providing directions or information as needed within the healthcare environment.
  • Support emergency response activities, such as assisting with evacuations or medical emergencies, according to site protocols.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter potential disruptions and promote a welcoming environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required as specified by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
