This is a full-time position working 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm.
POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of our Retail Branch, helping to deliver outstanding experience and maintain a smooth, efficient environment. This role works closely with the Retail Manager to coach team members, support new member consultants, and ensure service standards are met.   This role ensures team members are well-prepared to thrive in their positions and contribute meaningfully to the branch's success. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
Support branch operations and help ensure alignment with service and performance goals. 
Assist in driving satisfaction through friendly, accurate, and efficient service. 
Help coach team members on best practices for member engagement and transaction accuracy. 
Reinforce consultative sales techniques and support team efforts to meet branch goals. 
Provide hands-on guidance during member interactions and training exercises. 
Offer feedback and encouragement to Member Consultants, helping build their knowledge and skills. 
Participate in weekly check-ins with team members to support their performance and proactively remove any obstacles hindering their progress. 
Foster a supportive team environment that emphasizes continuous professional development, growth and collaborative success. 
Ensure daily operations are executed in compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards. 
Engage directly in training activities, including demonstrating sales techniques and navigating complex member scenarios. 
Address member comments and complaints autonomously, ensuring timely and thoughtful resolution. 
Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions to continuously improve service quality. 
Observe role-play exercises, offering constructive feedback and celebrating progress. 
Communicate updates and insights with other branch managers to ensure consistency and support across locations. 
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS 
Education/Certification:  
High School diploma or equivalent. 
Required Knowledge:  
Knowledge of financial products and services offered by credit unions (e.g., checking accounts, loans, mortgages, etc.) preferred.  
Experience Required:  
Accomplished sales performer, demonstrating ability to utilize sales and service skills to achieve goals and branch objectives. 
Leadership experience necessary for success in the role along with a passion for developing associates and coaching performance. 
HARD/TECHNICAL SKills/Abilities: 
System Proficiency: Proficient with banking software systems (e.g., core banking systems, CRM tools) and financial reporting software.  
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. 
Performance Coaching: Ability to analyze performance, recognize knowledge/skill gaps and provide constructive feedback and coaching. 
Leadership Skills: Guide and motivate staff, delegate tasks effectively, and foster a productive work environment. 
Conflict Management:  Manage interpersonal or member disputes professionally and constructively. 
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to credit union policies and federal regulations. 
Sales Skills: Proficient use of sales skills to discover member needs, present products and services and ask for the business.
