We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage and oversee all aspects of the shipping process in our Des Moines, Iowa facility. This role is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company and carrier standards. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. A strong sense of organization and attention to detail is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and customs forms.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Verify shipping information for accuracy, ensuring correct addresses and product details.
- Track shipments and provide updates to internal teams and customers.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records.
- Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure proper packaging and labeling.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely order processing and dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing duties.
- Assist with receiving functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and shipping software.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with different shipping carriers and their requirements.
- Must be able to perform light lifting, up to 25 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Problem-solving abilities.
