Job Summary:
Seeking a highly organized and analytical Inventory Control Specialist for our Charlotte, North Carolina distribution center. This position is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management system, supporting our extensive logistics operations. Your responsibilities will include performing regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, reconciling inventory records, and implementing best practices for inventory control. You will play a key role in optimizing stock levels, reducing waste, and ensuring product availability for fulfillment and shipping departments. A thorough understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control methodologies is required. We expect a strong attention to detail and the ability to analyze data to identify potential issues and suggest improvements. Safety is a core value; therefore, strict adherence to all safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. While this role is primarily focused on data and analysis, it operates within a warehouse environment, so the ability to navigate the facility and occasionally assist with moving materials is beneficial. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including operations, receiving, and shipping, to maintain seamless workflow and accurate inventory data. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Monitor stock levels, identify potential shortages or overages, and report findings.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate with receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping teams to resolve inventory issues.
  • Ensure proper rotation of stock (FIFO/LIFO) where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and use necessary PPE.
