Are you an experienced Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Charlotte, North Carolina? We are hiring! Our busy distribution center needs skilled individuals to manage the movement of goods efficiently and safely. As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in our logistics operations, handling everything from loading and unloading trucks to organizing inventory within our expansive facility. Your expertise in operating various types of forklifts will ensure the smooth flow of products, minimizing delays and maximizing productivity. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all team members to adhere strictly to our safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. This role demands precision, reliability, and a strong commitment to maintaining a secure working environment. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and unstack palletized materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments from trailers and containers.
- Organize and arrange inventory within the warehouse, ensuring efficient use of space and accessibility.
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all housekeeping and safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and guidelines, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure operational efficiency.
- Read and understand work orders and shipping manifests to accurately fulfill tasks.
- Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable forklift operating experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting performance expectations.
- Understanding and consistent use of required PPE is mandatory.
