About the Role:
The Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in the design, stability, and evolution of the enterprise networking environment. This individual will own day-to-day operations while also shaping long-term network architecture across LAN/WAN, cloud connectivity, and internet-facing infrastructure.
You'll serve as a technical authority-designing, implementing, and supporting scalable, secure, and high-performing network solutions. This role partners closely with Information Security, Compliance, and cross-functional business teams to ensure network technologies align with organizational standards, performance goals, and future growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in complex environments, exercises strong independent judgment, and is comfortable leading initiatives with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Architecture Own the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of enterprise networking solutions (LAN/WAN, cloud connectivity, and related platforms) Design, review, test, and implement enterprise-wide network technologies and standards Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex network issues Maintain and update network diagrams, architecture documentation, and technical standards Design and manage IP address space and routing architecture Support external-facing infrastructure with a focus on redundancy, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery Design, Standards & Optimization
Partner with leadership to define and evolve enterprise network design standards Research and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned to business needs Lead capacity planning, platform upgrades, modernization efforts, and process improvements Develop and measure network performance metrics and capacity requirements Monitoring, Security & Compliance
Design and support network monitoring and alerting platforms, including dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting Partner with Information Security and Compliance to ensure all solutions meet corporate security and regulatory standards Participate in DR planning, testing, and network resilience initiatives Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with internal teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions Lead and coordinate cross-functional initiatives impacting enterprise network infrastructure Assess the impact of proposed changes and support implementation planning and execution Oversee multiple network-related projects from design through deployment and support Leadership & Mentorship
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network and support teams Contribute to medium- and long-term network strategy aligned with company growth Perform solution impact assessments for initiatives with significant business impact Maintain deep architectural expertise and guide overall network direction Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong documentation and organizational skills Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience 10+ years of progressive experience designing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking technologies; certifications preferred (CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, CCIE) Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NTP, VoIP, BGP, EIGRP, and routing protocols Hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls; Catalyst, Nexus, 6500 series, etc.) Experience maintaining detailed network diagrams and technical documentation Proficiency with network analysis and monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds)
