Key Responsibilities
Unified Architecture & Integration
Unified Data Lake:
Design and deploy a cloud-native Data Lake (Snowflake/AWS S3) that ingests data from all operational verticals: Freight Forwarding and Warehousing into a single "Source of Truth." iPaaS & ELT Strategy:
Lead the integration strategy using iPaaS (Workato/Boomi) to trigger real-time actions (e.g., "Container Arrival" triggers "Warehouse Pre-Alert") and ELT (Fivetran) for high-volume reporting. Schema Design:
Architect the "Order Lifecycle" data model that links a Bill of Lading (Freight) to a SKU (Warehouse) and an Invoice (Finance), enabling true end-to-end visibility. Pipeline Development & AI Readiness
Transformation Layer (dbt):
Use dbt to clean and normalize messy data (e.g., standardizing carrier names across TMS and WMS) so our AI Agents can reliably automate pricing and tracking. Operational Automation:
Build the API connectors that allow AI Agents to "read" emails and "write" data back into the TMS/WMS without human intervention. Data Governance:
Implement automated "Health Checks" to ensure data accuracy across the supply chain (e.g., flagging if a container is marked "Delivered" in the TMS but "Not Received" in the WMS). Required Skills & Experience
5+ years in Data Engineering:
Expert-level SQL and Python; proven experience merging distinct data sources (e.g., TMS + WMS) into a unified model. Modern Data Stack:
Deep expertise with dbt (Data Build Tool) for transformations and ELT tools (Fivetran/Airbyte). Integration Architect:
Experience using iPaaS (Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato) to orchestrate workflows across API-based systems. Logistics Domain:
You understand the full lifecycle: EDI, Bill of Lading, WMS Inventory, and Final Mile. Systems Mindset:
Ability to understand the critical nature of accurate data related to the business and design systems to prevent errors. Sense of Urgency:
Competence with building quality product within short timelines while working in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits:
The company offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as basic and voluntary life and voluntary ancillary coverages for accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity. Full-time employees are eligible for paid sick leave, bereavement, holiday and vacation pay. Employees are eligible to participate in the company 401k plan on the first day of the third month following hire date.
