Electrician

Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, with a recruitment day in Glasgow)

Salary: £38,662.00 (plus a potential 33% shift allowance)

As an Electrician at BAE Systems, you will be at the heart of our mission to design and build world-leading naval ships. Your role will involve:

• Installing a variety of cables (multi-core, single core, and co-axial) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.)
• Terminating cables and installing all electrical equipment
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Collaborating with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient electrical installations
• Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards

We’re looking for candidates who bring:

• A Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent
• Relevant experience in marine or major industrial installations
• An understanding of assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH
• Familiarity with relevant trade drawings
• Knowledge of the tag-out process and correct proving dead procedures
• Experience in mounting electrical equipment & components
• Skills in earthing equipment and cable termination to industry standards
