Join Our Team as an Electrician!
Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, with a recruitment day in Glasgow)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus a potential 33% shift allowance)
What You'll Be DoingAs an Electrician at BAE Systems, you will be at the heart of our mission to design and build world-leading naval ships. Your role will involve:
- Installing a variety of cables (multi-core, single core, and co-axial) and electrical systems (junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers, switches, etc.)
- Terminating cables and installing all electrical equipment
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Collaborating with shipbuilding teams to ensure timely and efficient electrical installations
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
We’re looking for candidates who bring:
- A Modern Apprenticeship – SVQ 3 or equivalent
- Relevant experience in marine or major industrial installations
- An understanding of assessments, Risk, PUWER & COSHH
- Familiarity with relevant trade drawings
- Knowledge of the tag-out process and correct proving dead procedures
- Experience in mounting electrical equipment & components
- Skills in earthing equipment and cable termination to industry standards
