Primary Responsibilities The selected candidate will be responsible for server/router/firewall configuration and security management of an environment that includes networking equipment from several different manufacturers, as well as Windows/Linux servers, databases, VMware, and security hardware/software. This position supports a network that includes local and geographically dispersed LAN enclaves connected by WAN links and will be part of a team that builds, maintains, troubleshoots, and develops enhancements for a large, complex set of geographically dispersed IT systems.
Responsibilities include: Planning and designing network components/configurations to ensure sufficient resources (hardware/software) for monitoring and managing IT infrastructure. Engineering solutions to expand capacity, improve response time, and streamline network operations. Monitoring and analyzing mission-critical networks and servers. Setting up, managing, and maintaining security management and application performance optimization functions across internal and customer systems. Providing network administration support for development, deployment, problem identification, and remediation. Supporting enterprise LAN/WAN evolution and collaborating with IT service provider teams to ensure requirements are met. Planning, designing, and implementing IT enhancements, including servers, clients, storage devices, and network components. Identifying and correcting hardware/software issues on servers, clients, and networks. Conducting analysis of existing configurations and developing plans for system enhancements. Installing and upgrading networks and servers (hardware/software). Proposing, designing, testing, and installing new capabilities. Assessing the impact of system changes and developing detailed upgrade/enhancement plans. Providing written and verbal status reports to leadership. Overseeing development and maintenance of technical documentation (rack elevations, installation instructions, "as-built" designs, etc.). Supporting the development and quality assurance of network/system CDRLs. Providing technical assistance to companion work groups in overlapping projects.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of sixteen (16) years of relevant experience In-depth knowledge of network architecture, design, and implementation Expertise in routing and switching technologies Routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, ISIS Switching protocols: STP, LACP, VTP Proficiency in network automation Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Knowledge of software-defined networking (SD-WAN) Proven ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers Experience creating technical documentation (designs, implementation plans, technical notes) Skilled at briefing designs to review boards Knowledge of deploying MPLS networks Ability to learn, understand, and implement new technologies quickly Independent, self-directed learner with a track record of mastering complex concepts

Advanced expertise in network engineering with emphasis on design, implementation, and management of complex networks Experience with large-scale network architecture and deployments Demonstrated success in resolving complex network issues and improving performance Strong willingness and ability to adopt and apply emerging technologies
