Senior Software Engineering Manager - AI Solutions Development

Direct and mentor a team of software engineers, supporting their career growth and performance evaluations.
AI Platform Development:
Architect and execute AI solutions across VEQ utilizing GLEAN and DBX Genie, ensuring they meet scalability and compliance standards.
Data Platform Expertise:
Work closely with data engineering teams to design and enhance data pipelines, employing big data technologies such as Spark and advanced SQL.
Cloud Transformation:
Lead the migration and optimization of AI and data workload to cloud platforms, preferably Azure, while ensuring security and performance.
CI/CD and DevOps:
Develop advanced CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including automated builds and deployments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with product, data science, and infrastructure teams to roll out AI-driven features and solutions.
Technical Governance:
Ensure compliance with GM's coding standards, security protocols, and documentation needs.
Innovation and Strategy:
Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and integrate them into GM's operational ecosystem to maintain a competitive edge.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
10+ years of experience in software engineering with a robust full-stack background.
5+ years of experience in leading engineering teams in intricate environments.
Proven track record with AI development, focusing on building and deploying AI solutions using GLEAN and DBX Genie.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms, especially Azure, and cloud-native architectures.
Experience with big data technologies like Spark and advanced SQL.
Comprehensive experience in data platforms, including designing and utilizing data products and APIs for analytics and AI.
Advanced knowledge in CI/CD and pipeline development using GitHub Actions.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Track record of successful deployments of AI at an enterprise scale.
Experience in modernizing data platforms and optimizing complex data pipelines for AI workloads.
Demonstrated leadership in cloud migration efforts for AI and data platforms, ideally to Azure.
Familiarity with GM's internal standards and compliance frameworks.
Ability to drive technical innovation and influence architectural decisions.
Collaboration experience with data science teams to integrate machine learning models into production systems.
Company Vehicle:
After successfully passing a motor vehicle report review, you will have the opportunity to participate in the company vehicle evaluation program, where you can drive and evaluate a General Motors vehicle. Note: Participants are required to purchase or lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless exceptions apply. This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring at least three in-office days per week.
