Storage/System Engineer
Location: Scottsdale, AZ / San Jose , CA
Duration: Fulltime
JOB DESCRIPTION : Skills Desired: • Five years UNIX Systems and Storage administration (Hitachi, infinidat) experience within large 24/7 mission critical enterprise environments • Build and deploy new storage servers, Hitachi, NetApp, infinidat • Experience in storage CapAdd activities, add arrays • Applied experience. You've built, broken, and rebuilt software and hardware. • Experience with distributions in large enterprise setting • Experience managing UNIX configuration management tools • Experience and knowledge with network and Internet concepts, services and protocols • Understanding of incident management, problem management, release management and change management concepts • Knowledge of system performance monitoring • Systems log management and analysis skills • Scripting skills • Host based data migration experience including host level mirroring. • Experience troubleshooting technical problems. • Knowledge of storage area network concepts and fiber channel fundamentals • Hands on experience on Python, Ansible, or Puppet • Working knowledge of network protocols and be well versed in the IP stack. • Collaboration with peers, partners and stakeholders
Roles and Responsibilities: • Oracle Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu build/delivery • Support server, storage and database migration activities • Assist team with root cause analysis for major incidents. • Hands-on in shell, perl scripts knowledge in Python will be added advantage • Knowledge on continuous security OS patching and validation • Ensure all solutions and recommended solutions are consistent IT standards and best practices • Engineering initiatives that bring greater transparency and resiliency to core infrastructure - You should be able to document and articulate changes to standard build procedures. • Ensure all solutions and recommended solutions are consistent IT standards and best practices • Deploy and sustain back tier infrastructure and engineering standards
