Description
SUMMARY
This position is designed to provide hands-on experience and a broad understanding of Information Technology operations within Washington County Hospital and Clinics. The IT Intern will support the IT Department by assisting with help desk requests, hardware and software troubleshooting, and other technology-related projects. The intern will gain exposure to a variety of IT systems and develop practical skills in a healthcare environment.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)
Assist with installation and setup of PCs, notebooks, mobile devices, printers, monitors, and telephones.
Help resolve basic issues with hardware and software under supervision.
Support inventory management of IT equipment and supplies.
Participate in monitoring and completing Help Desk requests.
Attend and participate in department meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Current High School student enrolled in On the Job Training class (OJT), or
High School graduate, or
Current college student in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Aptitude for technology and willingness to learn new systems.
Basic knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously in a professional manner.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
