A medical assistant is a professional, multi-skilled person who is dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the supervision of a physician. The medical assistant will work collaboratively with the physician, other nursing staff, medical records, and front office personnel to provide efficient and safe patient care. The medical assistant will have clinical responsibilities both in the front and back office. The medical assistant is proficient in required competencies and will practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and medical office policies and procedures.

Position Accountabilities:

* Obtain the patient's medical and medication history and document in EMR.
* Obtain and record patient's vital signs.
* Prepare patient for examination or treatment.
* Assist the physician/ physician assistant in performing the examination or treatment.
* Ability to accurately withdraw medication to be administered.
* Function as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Participate in a comprehensive plan of care to meet the ongoing needs of the patient.
* Basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
* Perform administrative tasks such as typing, and maintaining medical records.

* Must be familiar with meaningful use requirements.
* Maintain professionalism and respect patient privacy at all times.

* Must be familiar with ICD-10 and CPT coding

* Punctual and consistent attendance.

* Possess excellent time management skills.
* Ability to critically think and make appropriate decisions.
* Maintain and clean rooms and equipment.
* Restock supplies and take inventory of supplies needed.
* Assist in other areas of the office such as coverage for other Physicians as needed.

Desired Qualifications:

* Perform all essential duties satisfactorily
* 1 Year of Experience
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, bilingual English/Korean
* Possess a professional and well-groomed appearance
* Critical thinking skills

Education/ License/ Certification

* High School Diploma
* Certified Medical Assistant certification and scheduling as well as medical assistant experience
* CPR certification

Skills

* Ability to administer injectable medications
* Ability to take patient vital signs
* Ability to learn new tasks and new equipment
* Critical thinking and decisions making skills
* Computer literate and ability to use Microsoft programs
* Full command (written and verbal) of the English language, interpersonal skills with patients, families, medical office and staff personal

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, sit, kneel, stoop or crouch. He/She may need to lift or move 10 to 25 pounds and on occasion may need to lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and/or care for patients with communicable diseases. The noise level is minimal. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you.
