Support the provisioning, decommissioning, and migration efforts of Edge networks across various Points of Presence (POP) sites.
Work closely with Edge Strategy Managers, Edge Delivery Managers, ISPs, and Colos to establish and implement peering agreements.
Anticipate and plan for peering requirements as the Edge network evolves, ensuring prompt stakeholder engagement to facilitate effective solutions.
Occasional travel may be necessary for this role.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline the entire deployment process.
Represent the AMER region as a key contact for peering and collaborate within a global Peering & Edge team.
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of documentation, automation, and processes.
Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Degree completion is required prior to joining Meta.
Experience in network engineering, focusing on the deployment and support of peering, Edge, CDN, and ISP networks.
Familiarity with networking routing and switching protocols including BGP, MPLS, RSVP-TE, and IS-IS.
Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/UDP and DNS, with experience in IPv4/IPv6 environments.
Experience managing multi-vendor environments, with a proven track record across various network platform types.
Knowledge of POP/Colo physical infrastructure concepts and optical types used in 10G/100G/400G networks.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.
Capacity to forecast and plan initiatives in a fast-paced environment, translating forecasts into actionable deliverables with defined timelines.
Basic knowledge of Linux systems, network automation, and familiarity with scripting languages.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective work across internal teams and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to develop scalable solutions and deployments within the Edge and Peering network.
Experience in a dynamic environment, supporting and evolving network infrastructure, with the ability to learn quickly and drive deployments while improving operational processes.
Preferred Qualifications: Relevant experience at a large network provider or CDN in an Edge-facing role within a global team.
Proven technical leadership abilities and strong analytical skills.
Understanding of Backbone and Datacenter networks, along with knowledge of Optical networks.
Possession of relevant network certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, or JNCIP.
Familiarity with various scripting languages.
Experience in process improvement and systems development, emphasizing automation to streamline repetitive workflows.
Compensation: $51.44/hour to $159,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Industry:
