Experienced Network Engineer Job Summary Join our innovative IT team as an Experienced Network Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in supporting vital public sector customers. You will manage and optimize our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and providing high-level technical support. This is a full-time, on-site contract position. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain robust IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
Ensure systems availability, compliance, and performance across key operational areas.
Manage Extreme and Cisco networking solutions to guarantee reliable connectivity.
Address existing vulnerabilities and maintain asset compliance for various technologies.
Develop and sustain desktop environments while ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Provide advanced technical support to internal and business teams, resolving complex issues and sharing best practices.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems architecture, configurations, and processes.
Thoroughly document requests or issues from stakeholders and provide assistance in resolving them using established procedures.
Monitor IT service management incidents, ensuring timely updates and closures to maintain high service standards.
Essential Qualifications: 7-10 years of experience with Palo Alto routing and security, with relevant certifications.
7 years working with Route/Switch technologies.
Hands-on experience with Extreme and Cisco networking technologies.
Familiarity with AWS and services such as GuardDuty, AWS WAF, AWS Shield, and CloudTrail.
Proficient in managing both Windows and Linux servers and workstations.
Extensive experience in remediating Windows and Linux operating systems.
Strong experience using Intune, Tenable, and Defender for endpoint protection.
Competence in Windows OS, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V.
Understanding of networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
Adept at quickly grasping complex and disparate systems.
Experience with local domain and mixed-level environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
A degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform essential job functions in a manner consistent with ADA and relevant standards.
This role involves sedentary work, focusing primarily on computer tasks.
Capable of conducting repetitive tasks with computer hardware.
Compensation:
$70 - $75 per hour The compensation range for this role varies based on location, experience, and education. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k access, and eligible paid sick leave or paid time off as required by law.
