Fiber Optic Installer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Installer to join our team, responsible for the installation and maintenance of telecommunication systems, network infrastructure, and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fiber splicing, network installation, and electrical work, with the ability to work in diverse field environments. Duties

• Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling and network infrastructure components.
• Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure optimal signal quality.
• Set up and configure Cisco routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
• Install Ethernet cabling, telephony systems, and low-voltage wiring in commercial or residential settings.
• Use hand tools and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues.
• Conduct field service tasks including system upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for accurate installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes during all installation activities.
• Document work performed and communicate progress with project managers or clients.

Requirements

• Proven experience in telecommunication or network installation, with service technician background preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to cabling, electrical systems, and low-voltage wiring.
• Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and familiarity with Ethernet, telephony, and telecommunication systems.
• Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely in various field environments.
• Electrical experience including troubleshooting with ohmmeters and understanding of electrical systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in dynamic settings. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
