Carter Clinical Services is dedicated to enhancing healthcare services in rural communities. We are currently looking for a motivated Quality Coordinator to join our team at Hamilton County Hospital.
Job Summary
The Quality Management Coordinator provides direct oversight to Quality Assurance and Infection Control improve the quality of care for Hamilton County Hospital. Through focusing on nursing quality indicators and patient safety priorities, this position is responsible for directing initiatives for performance improvement throughout the organization.
Job Duties
Directing the daily operations of Quality Assurance and Infection Control.
Quality Assurance
- Coordinates and participates in quality monitoring and improvement activities to support a culture of quality, evidence-based practice, optimal patient outcomes, patient safety, and compliance with CMS and the Kansas State Department of Health standards.
- Conducts quality reviews of hospital performance on patient outcomes and quality indicators.
- Works with interdisciplinary performance improvement teams to achieve excellent patient outcomes and industry leading success on publicly reported quality indicators.
- Prepares reports to educate and communicate information and results related to quality outcome measures, publicly reported quality data, and regulatory requirements.
- Provides technical and clinical support to assist hospital and medical staff in achieving continuous readiness on CMS and the Kansas Department of Health regulatory standards.
Infection Control
- Works with leadership team to ensure safety reporting requirements are met.
- Leads the patient safety activities and tracking management incidents that impact safety.
- Conducts and designs surveillance and investigations.
- Identifies infectious disease processes and investigates and reports as appropriate.
- Assists with the education of staff and patients/families on the prevention and control of transmission of infections.
- Participates in the formulation and revision of policies/procedures addressing infection control.
- Identifies and implements infection prevention and control strategies.
- Compiles and communicates information on the infection prevention and control program.
- Ensures compliance with state and local reporting of communicable diseases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: A degree from an approved school of nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a clinical care position required, two (2) years of Quality Assurance and/or Infection Control, two (2) years of experience in employee management preferred.
- Licensure and/or Certifications: Current RN License issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Certified in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of clinical health care, evidence-based practice, healthcare research.
- Skill in planning and administering performance improvement activities and using performance improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
- Strong skills in data measurement, analysis, and presentation.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to prepare and analyze reports.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Awareness of health care trends and ability to conduct reviews to establish best practices.
