Position Overview:
The Mobile Program Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of ECN Purpose's Mobile Eye Health Program. This role manages event logistics, volunteer coordination, partner communication, and day-to-day program operations to ensure mobile events run smoothly and effectively.
This role requires a dynamic and strategic leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they align with the nonprofit's mission and goals. The Program Manager will work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to run the Mobile Eye Health Program.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple moving pieces, and motivated by mission-driven work.
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Event Management
- Plan and coordinate mobile eye health events from scheduling through execution
- Manage event logistics including supplies, equipment, timelines, and on-site flow
- Ensure events meet organizational standards and operational requirements
Volunteer & Partner Coordination
- Recruit, onboard, and communicate with volunteer optometrists, technicians, and students
- Confirm schedules and event participation - Serve as the primary point of contact for community partners and host sites
- Manage and mentor program volunteers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
- Develop outreach strategies to find volunteers and partners in the community
Scheduling & Program Growth
- Proactively schedule mobile events with doctors and partner organizations
- Maintain an organized calendar of upcoming events
- Develop and implement program goals, strategies, and timelines in collaboration with the Executive Director
- Support program growth through outreach and relationship building
Training & Education Support
- Coordination of technician training classes
- Support curriculum logistics, materials preparation, and participant communication
Administrative & Reporting
- Track event data, participation, and outcomes
- Maintain accurate program records and documentation
- Support inventory tracking related to mobile program equipment and supplies
Community Outreach and Advocacy:
- Develop outreach strategies to find volunteers and partners in the community
- Organize and participate in community events and activities to promote program visibility
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, funders, and volunteer Optometrists and Technicians.
- Represent the organization at meetings, health fairs, and events to advocate for program needs and goals.
- Coordinate with external partners to leverage resources and expand program reach
Fundraising Support:
- Identify potential funding opportunities and assist with the development of grant proposals.
- Monitor grant requirements and ensure program compliance with funder guidelines.
- Collaborate to create fundraising strategies that support program growth.
Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, social work, public administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required to apply. - Experience:
1-3 years of program management experience in a nonprofit or similar setting is preferred but not required to apply.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to analyze data and present findings in a clear and actionable manner

- The position requires working in an office environment with regular off-site visits and participation in community events.
- Flexibility in work hours may be required, occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on program needs.
