Elementary School Teacher

Job Overview

Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, and social studies
• Foster a nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and social skills
• Utilize learning technology and educational tools to enhance student engagement and understanding
• Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress and tailor instruction accordingly
• Incorporate special education strategies and work with children with autism or other learning needs to ensure inclusive participation
• Mentor students through tutoring sessions, early intervention programs, and individualized support plans
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom activities, and school-wide initiatives
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to Montessori methods, behavior management, or early childhood education techniques
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress and classroom events

Experience

• Prior classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in diverse settings
• Proven expertise in lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management
• Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is highly desirable
• Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools for early learners
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles, childcare practices, and early intervention strategies
• Background in using learning technology platforms or library services to support student learning
• Private school experience or Montessori training is a plus but not required
• Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to mentor students effectively
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, parents, and community partners
