Join our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan, as a Material Handler! This role is critical to the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring the smooth flow of materials from receiving to dispatch. You will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for production or shipment, utilizing various equipment. A strong commitment to Safety, reliability, and physical capability are essential. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality.
- Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Stock materials in their designated locations, maintaining an organized inventory system.
- Pick and stage materials required for production orders or outbound shipments.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, performing daily checks and reporting any issues.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including regular Lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Solid understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable and dedicated to completing tasks efficiently.
