We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Miami, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and preparing materials for shipment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and management to ensure the efficient flow of goods through the facility. A strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety are essential. You'll be operating equipment, ensuring inventory accuracy, and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a leading distribution company.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to established procedures.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material status and any issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and PPE.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Properly manage Lifting requirements, utilizing team support when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and safety protocols.
- Basic understanding of inventory management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
