We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic Logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is vital to the efficient operation of our warehouse, involving the safe and timely movement of materials, loading and unloading of trucks, and maintaining inventory accuracy. As a certified Forklift Operator, you will play a key part in our supply chain process. We prioritize a strong commitment to Safety and expect all operators to uphold our high standards. This position requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a busy warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from incoming and outgoing trucks and trailers.
- Stage materials accurately in designated areas for shipping or storage.
- Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety protocols, warehouse rules, and the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and inventory locations as required.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventory checks.
- Follow all established traffic patterns and Safety guidelines within the facility.
- Support the broader Logistics team to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
- Perform tasks that may involve occasional manual handling and Lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, material handling procedures, and Logistics flow.
- Exceptional commitment to workplace Safety and the ability to enforce safety regulations.
- Ability to perform routine checks on equipment and identify potential issues.
- Good physical condition with the ability to stand, walk, and occasionally perform manual tasks including Lifting.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
