Job DescriptionSummary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our cleaning team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic environment for our residents.
The position is part time, 32 hours biweekly, 7:00am-3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including fixtures, tiles, and mirrors.
- Dust and polish furnishings, fixtures, and ledges throughout the facility.
- Clean windows and mirrors to ensure streak-free, clear surfaces.
- Maintain floor cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, and buffing as appropriate for different floor types.
- Vacuum, shampoo, and deodorize carpets according to established schedules and as needed.
- Clean walls and ceilings, including removal of cobwebs and other debris.
- Apply appropriate cleaning solutions to remove dirt, dust, and grease from various surfaces.
- Empty trash receptacles, dispose of waste properly, and replace bin liners.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of storage areas for cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Perform additional cleaning tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of professional cleaning experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions and adhere to safety protocols
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks throughout a full shift
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Reliable and punctual with excellent time management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Experience working in facilities for older adults or retirement communities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning chemicals
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
