Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager oversees all daily warehouse operations within a food production facility, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to the highest quality and food safety standards. The manager is responsible for the entire product flow, from inbound raw ingredients to outbound finished products. This role requires strong leadership to manage, train, and develop warehouse staff while maintaining a safe, sanitary, and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED is required.

· A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.

· Prior experience in food manufacturing or a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) environment is highly preferred.

Skills and certifications

· Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.

· Valid forklift operator certification is typically required. Certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.

· Strong understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, FDA, etc.) is essential.

· Excellent leadership and team-building skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively train staff, liaise with other departments, and report to management.

· Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot operational issues and drive improvements.

· Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage and coordinate all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, and distribution of food products and materials.

· Control and monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and reconcile physical inventory with the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accuracy.

· Implement and enforce strict food safety standards and regulations, including adherence to HACCP, GMP, and FDA guidelines. Ensure the facility is always audit-ready and compliant.

· Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor warehouse personnel. Manage employee performance, including scheduling, appraisals, and disciplinary actions.

· Establish and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security.

· Oversee the proper operation and maintenance of all warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, safe, and organized.

· Work with other departments, such as production, planning, and sales, to align schedules, optimize processes, and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

· Prepare the annual warehouse budget, track expenses, and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Produce regular reports on warehouse activities and performance for management review.

· Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve operational results.

Work Environment

This job is carried out in a professional office setting and involves using standard office equipment like laptops, desk phones, and smartphones. Regular visits to production facilities may also be required. During those visits, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, cold temperatures, and electrical shock and vibration risks. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Physical Demands

Employees must be able to stand, walk, or sit; use their hands for tasks; reach with their arms; and communicate verbally. Occasional lifting or moving of objects is necessary, along with close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
