Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and a deep appreciation for Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

Duties

• Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and creativity, adhering to traditional Japanese techniques.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new menu items and seasonal specials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
• Assist in meal preparation for catering events and special occasions as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to the management team.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting with guests, taking special requests, and accommodating dietary restrictions.

Skills

• Proficient in food preparation techniques specific to sushi making, including rice cooking, fish slicing, and rolling.
• Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations within a restaurant environment.
• Experience in meal preparation within a culinary or dietary department is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and engage with customers.
• A passion for culinary arts, particularly in Japanese cuisine, along with creativity in dish presentation.
