First Shift Production Material Handler 20.00/hr

PREMIER PROTECTIVE PACKAGING is located in Walker, MI, we specialize in unique custom packaging applications using Polypropylene (PP) and Polyethylene (PE), Foam, Bubble, and Non-Woven Spun Bond Polypropylene (SBPP) protective packaging materials. Our manufacturing technology utilizes state of the art, customizable sheet, bubble bag, die cut and laminating equipment that allows us to produce custom packaging.

We are looking for a Production Material Handler to join our team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Transports raw material and equipment to machines per work order

2. Assists with Loading raw material onto machines for production and finished material onto skids

3. Remove and wrap full skids of finished product and move finished product to warehouse

4. Cuts Cores per manufacturing work orders

5. Periodically performs quality inspections

6. Fills in as backup shipping/receiving, slitting and machine operator

7. Maintains plant and equipment organization and cleanliness

8. Assist with organizing and coordinating inventory storage locations as well as monthly fiscal count of inventory when required

9. Assists with training new material handlers and backup material handlers

10. Responsible for assigned fork lift inspection

Job Qualifications:

1. The job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of High School or equivalent

2. Valid Driver's license

3. Forklift experience, or ability to attain and maintain forklift certification

4. Ability to become certified on the overhead crane

5. Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members

6. Mental ability to periodically handle pressures related to working on projects requiring attention and detail

7. Physical ability to bend, twist and walk most of the shift as well as lift and transport equipment and materials weighing up to 70 pounds
