Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within outpatient or hospital settings. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service, supporting clinical operations, and ensuring smooth workflow across various medical disciplines including dermatology, urgent care, internal medicine, and hospital medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment in compliance with health standards.
- Support physicians with procedures such as X-ray imaging, medication administration, and basic life support when necessary.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient information, ICD coding, and treatment notes clearly.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Support administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Experience
- Prior experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dermatology, emergency medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical care, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or OR (Operating Room) settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with hospital medicine practices including inpatient care and Level I Trauma Center protocols is preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems, ICD coding, anatomy knowledge, physiology fundamentals, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience supporting diverse specialties such as internal medicine or urgent care enhances your ability to adapt to various clinical scenarios.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or radiology are a plus. Join our team to provide compassionate patient care while advancing your career in a dynamic healthcare environment
Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 32.0 per week
