Description of Position/Purpose: The Pharmacy Technician works closely with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated delivery of Pharmacy services to health center patients.
Job Duties:- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders.
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and any other applicable agencies.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Demonstrates understanding/practice of confidentiality in performing tasks.
- Positively represents program through appropriate interaction, and attitude.
- Inventory and restock pharmacy supplies.
- Able to use electronic health record to retrieve relevant information and to document care concisely.
- Resolves patient questions and concerns escalating issues to the Pharmacist as needed.
- Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Deliver medications to patient's residence as needed.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
If designated as a Pharmacy Technician Team Lead:
- All above as well as oversee technicians for accuracy and implement proper procedure to complete all daily assignments.
- Partner with Pharmacist to coordinate workflow for assigned functions that prepare and process medications.
- Knowledge of department metrics and productivity level.
- Implement pharmacy objectives as determined by the pharmacy supervisory team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- PTCB certification as a certified pharmacy technician
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years' experience minimum.
- Prior experience supporting clinical staff in an outpatient Pharmacy setting.
- Experience with 340B preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, including reading and analyzing data from spreadsheets, preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of trends and issues, laws, and regulations related to the delivery of outpatient Pharmacy services.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated skill at relationship building with strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
