Electrical Apprentice (Entry-Level) – Residential & Commercial

Job Summary:

We are a growing, locally owned electrical contractor based in San Diego seeking our first Electrical Apprentice to join the team. This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to start a long-term career in the electrical trade.

You will gain hands-on experience in residential and commercial electrical work while working directly under the supervision of a licensed electrician. We are looking for someone reliable, motivated, and eager to learn the trade the right way, safely, professionally, and by the code.

This position is intended for candidates who are enrolled in, or willing to enroll in, a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities:

• Assist a licensed electrician with installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems
• Perform basic electrical tasks using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Pull wire, install devices, outlets, switches, and lighting under supervision
• Help with conduit installation and rough-in work
• Read and follow basic plans, layouts, and verbal instructions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
• Follow all safety procedures and OSHA requirements
• Attend required apprenticeship classes and training
• Load/unload materials and assist with job setup and cleanup

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in starting a career as an electrician
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders and in confined spaces
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and work as part of a small team
• Basic hand tool familiarity is a plus, but not required
• Construction or trade experience is helpful but not required
• Must be eligible to enroll in a California-approved apprenticeship program
