About Morgan Compounding Pharmacy:

Morgan Compounding is an independently owned pharmacy located near downtown Alpharetta that has served patients since 1985 by providing them with high-quality, customized medications. We are a small company of 20 employees committed to working together on common goals and supporting each other's growth and development in our work positions and careers.

We are a unique pharmacy where all our medications are made on-site. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of patients through creative solutions to health challenges. We accomplish this mission by providing patients and their doctors with exceptional product quality, clinical expertise, and personalized care.

Job Description: Monday - Friday 8:30- 5:30 NO WEEKENDS

  • Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.
  • Accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations to determine the quantities of each ingredient
  • Determine the stability of the prescription in regards to safety and intended use and dose for each individual patient
  • Ensure all patients are properly counseled regarding their prescription medications and provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication usage and storage.
  • Address customer problems and complaints and assist in resolving these complaints/problems and developing methods to prevent future occurrences.
  • Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality effectiveness of drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications and characteristics.
  • Coordinates compounding, scheduling, and delivery of drugs, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist in providing marketer with new ideas for promotions.
  • Responsible for ensuring prescription dispensing department personnel are performing their daily, weekly and monthly tasks as instructed which includes, but not limited to:
  • Inspect and approve or reject all components, drug product containers, closures, in-process material, finished compounds, and labeling
  • Prepare and review all compounding records to make sure that no errors have been made in any part of the compounding process
  • Perform drug searches on specific chemicals in different dosage forms, strengths, bases, and any other components that are similar to meet the physician's specific needs
  • Provides follow-up information in response to a physician's request for additional information about the compounded product
  • Discuss with physicians the dosage forms which are available for their particular needs
  • Performing all the steps in the compounding process
  • Complies with all applicable state and federal laws governing pharmacy practice, policies and procedures, "best practices" and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Demonstrates initiative to stay current with technological changes which affect the pharmaceutical aspects of the pharmacy practice.
  • Uses clinical references and resources such as IJCP, PCCA and more to develop new formulas properly.
  • Documents all information as required by pharmacy, state and federal pharmacy regulations, non-federal organizations.
  • Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charging system, inventories, control records for narcotics and controlled drugs.
