Cashier

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role involves operating POS systems, managing cash handling procedures, and supporting store merchandising efforts. Bilingual skills and supervising experience are a plus, as is the ability to perform product demos and upsell merchandise. The Cashier will play a vital role in ensuring smooth store operations and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate POS systems accurately to process customer transactions
• Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with precision and integrity
• Assist customers with product inquiries and provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain knowledge of store products for effective upselling and product demos
• Support merchandising activities, including stocking shelves and organizing displays
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
• Enforce phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or in person
• Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed
• Supervise or assist other team members during busy periods when required
• Promote sales through suggestive selling techniques

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience, preferably in retail or grocery stores
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills
• Strong communication skills and friendly phone etiquette
• Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
• Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases
• Supervising experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail sales practices is advantageous
