Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Omakase Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation and fine dining. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Clean, Gut, Prep, and Filet a variety of different fish
• Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards throughout the meal preparation process.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
• Assist in catering events by preparing sushi platters and other related items as needed.
• Manage inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and availability for daily operations.
• Utilize proper knife skills for precise cutting of fish and vegetables while adhering to safety protocols.
• Provide guidance and support to junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food service industry.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
• Experience with meal preparation, menu planning, and catering services is preferred.
• Excellent knife skills with an emphasis on precision and safety.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team setting.
• A passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to continuous learning in culinary arts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
