Position Summary
The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Canton location, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals. This role supports staff, manages internal systems, and helps maintain smooth workflows across departments.
The Operations Manager serves as the on-site leader for the Canton location; all major operational, programmatic, and organizational decisions are made in close collaboration with the Vice President and President to ensure alignment with the organization's mission, standards, and long-term strategy.
In addition to strong operational leadership, the Operations Manager fosters a caring, empathetic, and supportive environment where staff, volunteers, and visitors feel valued and heard. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Vice President and President to assess organizational needs, address operational challenges, and drive continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with volunteers and program coordinator while overseeing programming and even coordination
- Define and implement operational policies and procedures
- Hands on support with support services as needed. This includes and is not limited to wig fittings, tours and intake
- Supervise and support staff across departments, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Provide regular performance evaluations, coaching, and constructive feedback to staff
- Manage and oversee staff, volunteer, facilitator and program schedules using Outlook calendar
- Maintain and organize organizational records, including contracts, bills, receipts, contacts, and building information
- Evaluate business procedures and recommend improvements aligned with organizational goals
- Monitor staff productivity and efficiency, identifying areas for growth and development
- Implement strategic goals and make operational decisions in collaboration with leadership
- Manage program, donor, grant, and volunteer data entry and ensure accurate donation logging
- Oversee financial processes including deposits, expense tracking, and credit card transactions
- Oversee thank-you letter process for donations and maintain board member lists
Schedule Requirements
· Ability to work a standard weekday schedule with occasional evening hours and select weekend availability to support programs, events, and organizational needs
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in operations, administration, or a related field
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience, including supervising teams and driving performance
- Familiarity with the nonprofit sector preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to prioritize, and adapt to shifting priorities
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
